About Qingyang
-
I knew as a child I would become a therapist. I enjoyed reading about psychology and philosophy even in middle school. It is my habit to observe people’s behaviors; most of the time, I correctly judge their thoughts and emotional states. For me, studying psychology, mental health disorders, treatment methodologies, and communication skills is a source of pleasure. Everyone will experience obstacles at some point in life, and some will get stuck there. As a therapist, it is essential to know how to bridge the gaps between their goals and their behaviors.
I rely primarily on CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem-Solving Therapy.
Outside of therapy, I am a licensed Project Management Professional and manage several clinical programs. This provides a macro view that enriches my work in the micro.

Our initial sessions focus on your background, such as your family history, your culture, worldview, the obstacles you’re currently experiencing, your feelings and preferences, etc.
We then individualize your therapy experience. Depending on your needs, we may use an excel sheet to track and analyze your mood, behaviors, and thoughts. Or we may use worksheets to practice alternative thoughts and positive thinking. They will be simple, and I will provide clear instructions.
I like to be active with clients, because I like seeing your progress as much as you do!

I believe a person’s mental health is affected by numerous factors at the same time and is constantly changing. Even variables like temperature, the changing of the seasons, spiritual practice, imagination, etc., matter. I value everything about you and your world. We will work from where you are and walk step by step to where you want to go.
