she, her, hers
Qingyang has been a licensed psychotherapist since graduating from the Columbia University School of Social Work in 2017.
Her strength as a therapist lies in her ability to take a comprehensive view of her clients' experiences, considering the biological, psychological, social, environmental, and spiritual aspects of their lives and beliefs. She was first introduced to the mental health field in 2013, providing counseling and legal assistance to juveniles placed on probation. As she progressed in her career, she worked with a variety of clients, including human trafficking victims who had experienced severe trauma. She provided individual and group counseling and accompanied them to court for their cases. These experiences led her to reflect deeply on the interconnected aspects of her clients' lives, helping her develop a holistic approach to care.
Throughout the years, Qingyang has observed that dreams are a common topic among many immigrants, especially those concerned about their legal status, job stability, or childhood trauma from strict Asian educational backgrounds.
Throughout the years, Qingyang has developed an understanding of how high-stress situations and childhood traumas often show up in clients' dreams, especially when the clients don't have other outlets for emotional expression and exploration.
High achievers who place immense pressure on themselves also frequently bring up dreams. Some dream symbols vividly reflect underlying anxieties and emotions. Discussing these dreams can lead to profound self-exploration and self-awareness, particularly for highly sensitive individuals who dream almost every night.
Having had a near-death experience (NDE) herself, she is open to discussing topics such as NDEs, shared visions, synchronicity, and parapsychology. Exploring the space between life and death has been her longstanding interest.
In addition to being a therapist, she is a program manager at Columbia University, focusing on clinical programs and assisting in developing and managing doctoral courses. This professional experience has given her insight into the diverse work environments of her clients, as she has firsthand experience navigating interpersonal communication, teamwork, and organizational dynamics.

About Qingyang
-
Mental health is a fluid and deeply personal journey unique to each individual. I am open-minded and attuned to the many factors that shape your experiences—internal and external. From seasonal changes and life transitions to dreams, imagination, and spontaneous thoughts, I pay attention to the subtle shifts in your emotions and perceptions.
Together, we will explore what is within your control and what lies beyond it, helping you cultivate a sense of clarity and agency in your life. Rather than imposing rigid solutions, I meet you where you are and guide you step by step toward where you want to be.
Because mental health is influenced by countless variables—including your environment, relationships, spiritual practices, and even intangible forces like energy and intuition—I take a holistic approach to understanding your experiences. Whether we are untangling past traumas, interpreting dreams, or navigating existential questions, our sessions will be a space where you can safely explore, reflect, and transform at your own pace.

When working with me, you can expect a holistic and reflective approach to therapy. I am passionate about digging into the root cause of the issues or concerns you bring and exploring your inner world together. I consider various dimensions of your life, and my previous experience has shaped my ability to navigate complex emotional landscapes with compassion and insight.
Our initial session will focus on understanding your unique story, including your family history, cultural influences, worldview, current challenges, emotions, and personal preferences. This comprehensive perspective helps us build a strong foundation for meaningful therapeutic work.
In working with high-achieving individuals, I’ve observed that many seek constant feedback on how to improve, which can sometimes add to your stress rather than alleviate it. Because of this, I emphasize a relaxed, open, and nonjudgmental space that encourages self-expression and understanding rather than pressing for immediate answers.
Dreams often become a focal point in my work, especially for clients experiencing high levels of stress, childhood trauma, or life transitions. Many of my clients find that their dreams offer a unique window into their subconscious, allowing us to uncover deep-seated anxieties, unprocessed emotions, or personal growth opportunities.
Additionally, if you are interested in exploring existential questions, near-death experiences, synchronicity, or profound/indescribable experiences that happened to you, I offer a safe and open space to engage in these discussions.

I believe a person’s mental health is affected by numerous factors at the same time and is constantly changing. Even variables like temperature, the changing of the seasons, spiritual practice, imagination, etc., matter. I value everything about you and your world. We will work from where you are and walk step by step to where you want to go.
