Our approach does not try to fool you: therapy is no substitute for absent friends or love, the loneliness isn’t just a distorted perspective, and relationship conflict often requires more than the direct and honest communication many of our clients already practice.

But we do believe, as our work has shown us, that there is always something you can try, or something about your approach you can adapt. We differ from other providers in being candid about this, and in helping you determine just what you can do differently.

We value love and friendship in our own lives, and so we do not pretend to you that their loss is something you just have to quietly accept, and we don’t settle for telling you life’s hard/it sucks, and leaving it at that. We know it’s a struggle out there, and we are willing to struggle with you.
